GAWP Student Chapter Benefits
A Section of the Georgia Water Network The GAWP Student Membership program was created for those students who are regularly enrolled in colleges or universities and spend at least one-half of their time on academic course work or equivalent. Over the years, GAWP has expanded and improved upon the services offered to its Student Members in an effort to enhance and facilitate both their current studies and their transition into the working environment. GAWP provides Student Chapters with: • Access to internship and work-study opportunities; • Discounted rates on GAWP Conferences which are great for networking with future employers; • Opportunity to participate in Student Poster Competitions in which the winners display their posters at a GAWP Conference; • Speakers for Student Chapter meetings and food at two meetings per semester; • Student Chapter Bi-Monthly Newsletter with job openings, internship opportunities, Young Professional and Student Spotlight, and upcoming events; • GAWP technical publication the Georgia Operator; • GAWP monthly publication the News & Notes which includes a job bank; • GAWP weekly e-news; Student Chapters are able to: • Compose an electronic portfolio of Graduating Seniors’ resumes which GAWP will provide to its Corporate & Utility Members as a hiring resource; • Network with potential employers and mentors through Student Chapter meetings with GAWP provided professional speakers at GAWP Conferences and Expos; and through the Georgia Water Network (GAWP’s Young Professional group). • Georgia Tech Association of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AEES) • Mercer University GAWP Student Chapter |
